Scouting for All

BSAoath  Scouting for All

It is the philosophy of the Mississippi Valley Council that all youth should have the opportunity to join our programs regardless of financial capability.

A Scout is Thrifty

A Scout knows the value of their time and how to work hard. The Mississippi Valley Council offers fundraising opportunities in the form of Popcorn Sales in the fall and Discount Cards in the spring. Scouts are encouraged to participate in these fundraisers to raise money to help cover the cost of their Pack/Troop program and to help pay their way to camp. Units are able to conduct additional fundraisers to help support their Scouts.

Additional Assistance

Scouts who still need assistance after fundraising opportunities are exhausted have the opportunity to apply for additional support thanks to the generosity of many partnering organizations and donors. The following partners (listed alphabetically) pledge money on an annual basis to support Scouts who need additional support with camp fees or registration assistance:

  • Adams County United Way
  • Big River United Way
  • Black Hawk Lodge, Order of the Arrow
  • Burlington/West Burlington United Way
  • Burlington Kiwanis
  • Camp Eastman Development Association - Randy Plummer Memorial
  • Dennis Wilson
  • Ft. Madison Area United Way
  • Mississippi Valley Council, BSA
  • Quincy Noon Kiwanis
  • Tribe of the Silver Tomahawk
